Forecast: Sunny, With Highs In The Lower 80s; Showers Wed.

This week is likely to be a generally decent one for vacationers. Today is one of the better days of the week, although others won’t be bad. A weak area of high pressure today keeps the clouds at bay and brings warm weather with inland highs in the lower 80s.

If you are headed to the beach temperatures will be a bit cooler, with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Winds will be a bit choppy today with a light sea breeze. Tides are high later in the morning.

Wednesday continues to be the least favorable outdoor day. There is going to be an area of showers and even thunderstorms on Wednesday morning. There could be a redevelopement of showers and more storms in the afternoon and evening as well, but this is not a sure thing. If you have a day you want to do indoor things this week, do them on this day.

The end of the week looks dry and comfortable. It will be a bit humid on Wednesday afternoon and feel drier for the end of the week.

The holiday weekend is looking good, and I am cautiously optimistic for a mostly rain-free 4th of July with seasonably warm readings, but not big heat and no big humidity. The chance of a pop-up storm isn’t zero, but it’s low enough I would still plan on spending the day outside if you want.

One interesting note about time: Later this evening, the official timekeepers of the world will add one second to the clocks, accounting for the slowdown of the Earth’s rotation. So I guess technically, today is the longest day of the year.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

Tonight: Partly cloudy and mild. Lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

Wednesday: Partly sunny and more humid. A few storms or showers. Highs near 80 degrees.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high in the upper 70s.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high 78-82.

Saturday: Partly sunny, 77-82.
