Massachusetts College Daycare Worker Arraigned In Rape Case

A Massachusetts judge has set bail at $100,000 for a former Bridgewater State University student accused of sexually assaulting two young boys while working at a campus daycare center.

Twenty-two-year-old Kyle Loughlin was arraigned Friday in Brockton Superior Court and pleaded not guilty to aggravated statutory rape, aggravated child rape and other charges. A Plymouth County grand jury indicted him June 23.

Authorities allege Loughlin sexually abused two boys, ages 4 and 5, while working as an attendant at the campus daycare center in January and March. He was arrested March 31.

Loughlin's lawyer, Daniel O'Malley, had asked that bail be set at $25,000, saying Loughlin has no criminal record and isn't a flight risk. O'Malley also said Loughlin has a non-cancerous brain tumor that has made him legally blind.
