Boston Fire Officials: Man Killed After Becoming Pinned Under Train

The Boston Fire Department says a man is dead after he was hit and killed by a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority train.

Authorities say the man, who is between 50 and 60 years old, became pinned under a Red Line train at the JFK/UMass Station Monday around 2:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

MBTA police say he accidentally stumbled onto the tracks before he was struck in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

Transit Police detectives and the Suffolk District Attorney's Office are investigating. Authorities do not suspect foul play.

Buses were replacing trains during the incident, but regular service has since resumed.
