Ex-Harvard Worker Charged With Stealing $80K From School

A former Harvard employee has been charged with stealing $80,000 from the university by using a school-issued credit card to buy Legos and other items for personal use.

Shawn Bunn, of Waltham, was released on personal recognizance with GPS monitoring after pleading not guilty Wednesday to charges including larceny and false entry in corporate books.

Prosecutors say the 44-year-old Bunn over a period of four years used the university-issued credit card to make personal purchases, and then covered his tracks by submitting false receipts.

In addition to Legos, prosecutors say Bunn bought televisions, iPads, a table saw, and a garbage disposal.

Bunn worked as a computer lab manager at Harvard for seven years.

He could not immediately be reached for comment.
