On WBUR-FM: 'Dead Man Walking,' Kashkashian, Juan de Marcos Gonzalez

WBUR-FM has had several music stories of particular interest this week.

Radio Boston previews this weekend's Boston Opera Collaborative performance of "Dead Man Walking" at the Somerville Theatre, Jake Heggie's and Terence McNally's treatment of Sister Helen Prejean's book about her attempt to save the life of convicted murderer Joseph de Rocher. She talks to Radio Boston.

One of the world's great violists, Kim Kashkashian, teaches at the New England Conservatory of Music and spoke to Here and Now. She just won a Grammy for her CD of music by Ligeti and Kurtág.

And "On Point's" Tom Ashbrook and José Massó of "¡Con Salsa!" spoke to Juan de Marcos Gonzalez , leader of the Afro-Cuban All Stars while he was in town.
