Lea DeLaria To Be Guest Of Honor At Elliot Norton Awards

Lea DeLaria, the triple-threat actress-comedian-singer, will be this year’s guest of honor at the 33rd Elliot Norton Awards. The ceremony will be at the Shubert Theatre at 7 p.m. Monday, May 11. Tickets go on sale this coming Monday at the Citi Center Box Office or by calling 866-348-9738.

Joyce Kulhawik — president of the Boston Theater Critics Association, which administers the awards, said — “Lea DeLaria’s cutting-edge talent in so many formats, as a comedian, singer, writer, director, actress — on TV, film and stage, from Broadway’s 'On the Town' and the American Rep Theater’s 'Prometheus Bound' in Cambridge, to her summer performances in Provincetown — are a testament to her versatility and outspokenness. Her critically acclaimed role as Big Boo in Netflix’s 'Orange is the New Black,' her recent impromptu performance speaking truth to ignorance on a New York City subway, while hot off a jazz gig that raised the roof at Lincoln Center, have left us dazzled. It is an honor to honor her!”
