As Promised: Long-Lost Lahey Memo On FDR

As I wrote on Friday, The Lahey Clinic this weekend unveiled a delectable bit of medical history: A memo written in 1944 by the clinic's founder, Dr. Frank Lahey, after he examined Franklin Delano Roosevelt and found him to be in dire condition, too dire to last another term as president. The memo likely helped pave the way for the choice of Harry Truman as the vice president who would take over when FDR died shortly into his fourth term.
