This event is now SOLD OUT. If you have purchased tickets but do not believe you have received them, please check your email’s spam folder for a message from ArtsEmerson: Paramount Center. If you still can’t find them, the box office will have your name on the list at Will Call tonight.

Join us for this year’s edition of a unique, behind-the-scenes WBUR experience: a live production of On Point with Tom Ashbrook, Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Center in downtown Boston.

We know from past years that this is one of our listeners’ favorite events, and this year Tom will be speaking with one of his favorite guests: best-selling author and New York Times columnist Mark Bittman. To open the live show, Della Mae will perform songs from their first album, just out from Rounder, “”This World Oft Can Be.” The program will be taped and aired on WBUR and NPR stations across the country on Friday, June 7.

This live event features the option, with a pledge of $150, to attend an elegant VIP reception in the Paramount’s Black Box Theatre before the show at 5:30 p.m. It’s your chance to meet Mark, Tom and the rest of the On Point staff in person at this intimate and private affair while enjoying delectable dishes prepared by Executive Chef Chris Douglass of Ashmont Grill and Tavolo and Chef/Owner Joanne Chang of Myers + Chang and Flour.

Copies of Mark’s and Joanne’s books will be available for sale at the event, and there will be a book signing after the program.

Mark Bittman is known both for his great food writing and for his Times Opinion pieces on food policy. His “How to Cook Everything“ books, with more than a million copies in print, are a mainstay of today’s kitchen, and his columns on everything from sustainable farming to food labeling regularly spark national conversations. You’ve seen him on the “Today” show, on the Cooking Channel, and on your seatback screen on JetBlue. He even has his own YouTube channel. Now’s your chance to see him in person.

We hope you’ll join us for a wonderful evening with Tom, Mark and the entire On Point staff.
