‘Open Source’ Debut
Did you miss the debut of WBUR’s new program, Open Source with Christopher Lydon on Thursday, January 2? Be sure to tune in for the rebroadcast this Sunday at 2 p.m.
In the debut, Chris explores El Sistema, a program at an elementary school in Brighton, Mass.where every child makes music for three and a half hours a day. The driving idea, spreading worldwide from Venezuela, is that every child wants to play an instrument and can. There’s another way to teach music and maybe a new way to organize a school.
Each week, Open Source will feature a rich Boston conversation about arts, ideas and politics that’s as smart and engaging as the global city we’re living in. Led by Lydon, a unique voice and captivating host, Open Source will explore this region on its cutting edges—from brain sciences and poetry to strategic studies and music—all of them outward looking and inextricably linked to the wider world. Learn more at the Radio Open Source website.
Open Source will air on 90.9 WBUR every Thursday at 9 p.m. with a rebroadcast on Sundays at 2 p.m.
