Explore Immigration In Lawrence With Asma Khalid
WBUR, the Harvard Kennedy School’s Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, and the Lawrence Mayor’s Office present a panel discussion on the immigration experience. Part of the Ash Center’s ongoing “Challenges to Democracy” series, the event will be moderated by WBUR reporter Asma Khalid, who is broadcasting special reports from Lawrence, Mass., over the next several months. It will focus on the challenges and solutions that Lawrence has discovered in working with both documented and undocumented immigrant communities, with a view to what others can learn from the Lawrence experience.
The event, at the University Space in Lawrence’s Union Crossing building, begins at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 31, with a reception. Lawrence Mayor Daniel Rivera will make opening remarks, followed by a one-hour panel discussion and a closing reception.
