‘On Point Live’ With Atul Gawande
This event is now sold out. The On Point Live conversation will be recorded for broadcast the next day on WBUR and NPR – so you’ll be the first to hear it all.
Tom’s guest is a health-care pioneer and the man who turned a surgeon’s checklist into a manifesto: Dr. Atul Gawande. From MERS to obesity to Obamacare, Tom will talk with Dr. Gawande about where healthcare is headed — and what that means for you.
When Dr. Gawande’s not in conversation with Tom or working in the OR at Brigham and Women’s Hospital as a general and endocrine surgeon, he’s often writing. He is a staff writer for The New Yorker and the best-selling author of three books: “Complications,” “Better” and “The Checklist Manifesto”.
This special evening will also include a chance to submit questions. Opening the performance will be live music from Morris And The East Coast, serving up a distinct sound they describe as “American blues with a side dish of soul.”
