On Point Live with Tom Ashbrook and Mark Bittman
Join us for this year’s edition of a unique, behind-the-scenes WBUR experience: a live production of On Point with Tom Ashbrook, Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Center in downtown Boston.
We know from past years that this is one of our listeners’ favorite events, and this year Tom will be speaking with one of his favorite guests: best-selling author and New York Times columnist Mark Bittman. The show will be taped and aired on WBUR and NPR stations across the country on Friday, June 7.
Mark Bittman is known both for his great food writing and for his Times Opinion pieces on food policy. His “How to Cook Everything“ books, with more than a million copies in print, are a mainstay of today’s kitchen, and his columns on everything from sustainable farming to food labeling regularly spark national conversations. You’ve seen him on the “Today” show, on the Cooking Channel, and on your seatback screen on JetBlue. He even has his own YouTube channel. Now’s your chance to see him in person.
This live event, which usually sells out quickly, features the option to attend an elegant VIP reception in the Paramount’s Black Box Theatre before the show at 5:30 p.m. to enjoy delectable food prepared by Executive Chef, Chris Douglass of Ashmont Grill and Tavolo and Chef/Owner, Joanne Chang of Myers and Chang and Flour. Copies of Mark and Joanne’s books will be available for sale at the event and there will be a book signing after the program.
Tickets are $60 to attend the show, and $150 to attend the show and VIP reception.
