Dear Sugars' sister podcast, Kind World, recently produced a special series featuring stories of kindness and compassion at the U.S.-Mexico border. It's called "Lifelines" and tells stories of ordinary people who've stepped up in extraordinary ways during an ongoing humanitarian crisis.

We wanted to play one of those stories for you. It's about one woman who was forced to flee her country and ended up at a respite center in Texas. That's where she found peace — and where she's helping other refugees find it, too.
