Monday was a challenging day for Boston Latin School, one of the city's elite schools.

The results of a now-concluded federal investigation show a pattern of race-based harassment, discrimination and — in one instance — a violation of civil rights at the oldest public school in the U.S.

This comes on the heels of news that Massachusetts has downgraded Boston Latin from a Level 1 to a Level 2 school.

WBUR's Tonya Mosley explains what this all means.

This segment aired on September 26, 2016.
