‘On Point’s’ Tom Ashbrook Talks With Tech Visionary Nicholas Negroponte
You need news and information. Children need to learn. And how all that happens is changing in the digital age.
Join On Point Host Tom Ashbrook for “Reinventing Media 4.0,” a free community event on Friday, July 26 at 5:30p.m. at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown, Mass. Tom’ s guest is Nicholas Negroponte, technology visionary and founder of the MIT Media Lab, now leading the charge for ”One Laptop per Child,” to build computers for children in the developing world.
Where will this digital media revolution take society at large? Negroponte says in his Ted Talk: “Everybody agrees that whatever the solutions are to the big problems, they … can never be without some element of education.”
“Reinventing Media 4.0″ is free and open to the public, but reservations are encouraged. To reserve your spot, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. For information or questions, please call 617-353-8152. Note: the Old Whaling Church is located on Martha’s Vineyard in Edgartown, and is a short ferry ride from several Cape Cod and South Coast locations. See you there!
This free event is a presentation by WBUR, Boston’s NPR News Station and the home of On Point, now broadcasting on 92.7 WBUA for the Cape, Islands and South Coast.
