It has been 10 years since the first WBUR Gala—an extraordinary decade that redefined the world. The United States embarked on two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; China became the the world’s second largest economy; The West suffered a crisis of credit and confidence; Social media became a means to connect with friends as well as a tool to subvert authoritarian regimes. How have we responded to this change andw hat does it mean to live 10 years after 9/11. We explore a defining decade.

Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize

Each year, the WBUR Gala honors legendary journalist Daniel Schorr by awarding the Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize to a rising reporter whose accomplishments in public radio contribute to Schorr’s legacy. This year’s Daniel Schorr Journalism Award will be presented by longtime WBUR supporters James and Nancy Bildner.
