By now you've finished your holiday shopping. Maybe, though, you're headed back to the mall to spend some of that newly-acquired Christmas cash.

Retailers are celebrating the holiday season wholeheartedly this year, thanks to a boom in sales. Preliminary retail data shows holiday sales up by 5.5 percent, beating even optimistic forecasts.

We speak with Ylan Mui, who covers the retail industry for the Washington Post.
