Political unrest is engulfing two countries in North Africa: Egypt and Tunisia. Protesters in Egypt are calling for the ouster of President Hosni Mubarkak, a key ally to the U.S.  And in Tunisia, demonstrations triggered by a young vendor who died after setting himself on fire forced Tunisia's president to flee the country last week.

The BBC's Middle East editor Magdi Abdelhadi joins us from Tunis, to explain what's at the root of the unrest and whether it will spread to other countries.

This segment aired on January 26, 2011.
