As seemingly endless winter storms come and go, the deep blanket of snow atop many buildings has melted and frozen, creating cracks and leaks and causing roofs to cave in.

Across the country, homeowners scrambled to clear snow off their roofs. In Massachusetts, this week alone, there were more than 70 reports of roof collapses from the double whammy of storms the region has had.

About the only people who aren't fed up with the dumping of snow, is those that work in the roofing business. Here & Now's David Boeri tagged along with one crew of roofers in the Boston area trying to clear ice dams.

This segment aired on February 4, 2011.
