John Janssen, the former mayor of Greensburg, Kansas, says that communities in Japan can learn a lot from his small city. Two years after almost all of Greensburg was destroyed by a powerful tornado, the city has managed to rebuild and, Janssen says, become a better city.

We talk with Janssen about how Greensburg rebuilt and became more energy efficient.
