We heard from many listeners after our conversation with musician Tom Rush, our segment about a goodnight book that's not for kids and our interview with farmer Gene Logsdon, who is calling for "managing manure to save mankind."  Logsdon's new book, "Holy S***," is about the importance of using manure, animal and human, as fertilizer.

Some listeners wrote in to say their towns are already doing this, but others like South Carolina farmer Dave Cole wrote, "human waste--no way. Too dangerous. Especially when mixed with industrial waste." We find out what's in our waste with Murray McBride, professor of soil chemistry and director of the Waste Management Institute at Cornell University.

This segment aired on May 24, 2011.
