Colonel Dan Nash, call sign "Nasty," and Colonel Tim Duffy, call sign "Duff," were on duty on Sept. 11 at Otis National Guard Base in Massachusetts when word came of a possible plane hijacking. They took off from their base when the first plane hit the World Trade Center.
