At least 16 people lost twins on 9/11. One of them is Pamela Bittner of Boston. Her brother Jeffrey was working in the World Trade Center when the planes hit. In the years since his death, she has dedicated her life to keeping his legacy alive, through The Jeffrey Bittner Scholarship at the Kingswood Oxford School in Connecticut, which they attended together as children.

Pamela Bittner told Here and Now's Robin Young that she and Jeffrey were very close and that she now carries on some of his traits.

"I like to think that over the last 10 years I've become a little bit more like him, that some of the good pieces of him are tucked inside somewhere," she said.

Guest:

  • Pamela Bittner, whose twin brother Jeffrey was killed in the Sept. 11 attacks

This segment aired on September 8, 2011.
