On Tuesday, the Portland, Oregon-based band Blind Pilot releases their CD, "We Are The Tide." Founders Israel Nebeker and Ryan Dobrowski met as college students, and in London they started busking, or performing on the streets.

In 2007, the duo formed the band and promoted themselves through bike tours of the West Coast, stopping along the way to perform at whatever venue would have them.

The hard work paid of0. Their song, "Go On Say It," was an iTunes pick of the week, and their debut CD, "3 Rounds and a Sound," was picked by NPR as one of the best of 2008.

Guests:

  • Israel Nebeker, lead singer of the band "Blind Pilot"
  • Ryan Dobrowski of the band "Blind Pilot"

This segment aired on September 12, 2011.
