The Chicago-based alt-rock band Wilco has been very busy lately.

They release an eighth studio album, "The Whole Love" next week. The band also recently started their own music festival and music label.  And they are on tour,  with sold out shows in Boston and New York City this week.

In their new album, the band experiments with strings, synthesizers and an electronic sound. Some songs have a retro feel, which may have to do with lead singer Jeff Tweedy's confessed childhood love of the Monkees.

Guest:

  • Jeff Tweedy, frontman of Wilco

This segment aired on September 19, 2011.
