Afghans have fled the violence in Helmand Province for the relative safety of Kabul. But when they arrive, their living options are few.

Some stay in refugee camps, where life has been very harsh this winter.

Rod Nordland of the New York Times was in the camp this week when one family lost their 3-month old son to the cold.
