Polls out Wednesday show President Obama holding onto a slight lead despite the addition of Paul Ryan to the GOP ticket, but there is an interesting twist in the numbers — a lot of people who support Governor Mitt Romney think that President Obama is going to win.

Those numbers come as the GOP plans for a possible hurricane or tropical storm in Tampa during next week's convention.

Not yet registering in the poll numbers: Todd Akin's comment that in cases of "legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down," to prevent pregnancy. Akin, who is a Republican congressman from Missouri and is trying to get elected to the U.S. Senate, has apologized, but Democrats are targeting congressional Republicans who joined Akin last year in supporting a resolution that would have redefined rape as "forcible rape" — Paul Ryan was one of them.

Guest:

  • Rick Klein, senior Washington editor for ABC World New and co-host of the network's webcast, "Top Line"

This segment aired on August 22, 2012.
