After the Jerry Sandusky scandal rocked Penn State, a new college football season is underway. One of the big games this weekend is between two top-ranked teams, Alabama and Michigan.

The Michigan football program is back on track after a debacle involving its former coach Rich Rodriguez. Rodriguez came to the school with great promise but infighting and losing seasons led to his firing. The story plays out in a book called "Three And Out: Rich Rodriguez And The Michigan Wolverines: In The Crucible Of College Football." It's just come out in paperback and we're revisiting a conversation the author, John Bacon, last fall.

This conversation was originally broadcast on November 25th, 2011.

Guest:

  • John Bacon, author

This segment aired on August 31, 2012.
