Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, those are some of the foreign policy challenges that will face the next secretary of state. U.S. Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts is expected to win easy confirmation for the job to succeed Hillary Clinton, who has just been released from the hospital where she was being treated for a blood clot in her head.

So how will the new leader of the State Department deal with those issues?
