Justine Sacco, the head of corporate communications for Barry Diller's InterActive Corporation, lost her job after tweeting "Going to Africa. Hope I don't get AIDS. Just kidding. I'm white!"

She sent her tweet Friday before she boarded a flight from New York to Cape Town, South Africa, unaware that during her 11-hour flight her tweet went viral.
