Tepco, the operator of Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant, has begun building a massive underground ice wall around the nuclear plant reactors.

Since the 2011 disaster, water has been pumped in to cool the reactors, but storing the large quantities of radioactive water has proved to be a challenge, and groundwater has been mixing with contaminated water.

Ken Buesseler, a senior scientist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, tells Here & Now's Meghna Chakrabarti that he's concerned the ice wall will create new problems.
