In Ohio today, federal judges will hear six cases on gay marriage. It's the single largest group of cases on the issue since the U.S Supreme Court declared portions of the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional last summer.

The legal challenges were filed by couples in Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee and Kentucky. They could provide the next springboard to vault gay marriage back before the Supreme Court.

Ann Thompson of WVXU in Cincinnati has been following the cases and joins Here & Now's Meghna Chakrabarti with details.
