Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev today spelled out details of retaliatory sanctions that Russia will impose on the West for the next year.

Russia will ban all imports of meat, fish, milk and milk products such as cheese, as well as fruits and vegetables from the U.S., the European Union, Australia, Canada and Norway. The move could leave store shelves bare in Moscow, and cost Western farmers billions of dollars in lost revenue.

Edward Lucas writes for The Economist and released a new edition of his book "The New Cold War" this week. He joins Here & Now's Robin Young to discuss the potential effects of Russia's sanctions.
