Thousands of people will gather at the Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis today to remember Michael Brown, the black 18-year-old who was killed by a white police officer earlier this month in Ferguson, Missouri.

Brown's family has asked for a "day of silence" after days of riots and conflict between protesters and police. Representatives from the White House, the Rev. Al Sharpton and celebrities such as Spike Lee are expected to attend.

Deborah Becker of WBUR joins Here & Now's Robin Young from Ferguson with details.
