For the first time, U.S. planes have attacked ISIS targets in the western province of Anbar.

Iraqi troops say the strikes helped clear ISIS fighters from the area around the strategic Haditha Dam.

Ahmed Ali, a senior researcher on Iraq at the Institute for the Study of War joins Here & Now's Robin Young to discuss the airstrikes.
