A home run by Derek Jeter, his first of the year at Yankee Stadium, helped keep New York's playoff hopes alive last night in Jeter's final year in the big leagues after two decades.

Well, up the coast, in Bridgeport, Conn., another pro ballplayer is also coming to the end of a storied career after 20 years in the game.
