ATM, Overdraft Fees Pile Up
ResumeBanks are making more money from customers who overspend and use out-of-network ATMs.
A survey from Bankrate.com shows ATM fees have gone up 5 percent in the past year.
Charges for overdrafting a checking account have also hit a new record high for the 16th straight year.
These fees can burden lower-income customers and make it harder for them to save.
NPR's Marilyn Geewax joins Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson to discuss these rising fees and how it is affecting customers.
