eBay Plans To Separate From PayPal

E-commerce company eBay announced today that it will spin off its PayPal business into a separate, publicly traded company next year.

This is a victory for eBay investor Carl Icahn who has been pushing for a separation for months.

The latest move marks a big reversal, since eBay has long opposed the split.
