Hundreds of people gathered in a community center last night to ask city officials why Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old African-American boy with a BB gun, was shot by a white police officer on Saturday evening.

Children and adults also expressed concern about the safety of African-Americans in the city. Police said surveillance tape of the shooting will be released today.

From the Here & Now Contributors Network, Mark Urycki of WCPN was at the community meeting and has our report.
