Lauren Oliver joins Gillian Flynn and Dennis Lehane in the ranks of authors who have been tapped to adapt their fiction to the big screen. Universal Pictures hired Lauren to write the screenplay for her YA (young adult) novel "Panic" in February.

The book, which was released in paperback this week, tells the story of a daredevil game played by high school seniors. We revisit Here & Now host Jeremy Hobson's conversation with Lauren Oliver about the book.

As she told Jeremy, the idea for the book came from a Grimm's fairy tale: "I started thinking about what would make some people capable of withstanding fear and embracing it, even and what makes other people try to avoid fear at all costs."
