Stocks in the U.S. opened slightly lower after a two-day surge, following a steep fall in the first part of the week over concerns about China's stock market and economy.

After a wild week, Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with Mohamed El-Erian, chief economic adviser for Allianz SE, about how China's economy impacts the U.S., and what is coming up for the Federal Reserve.

El-Erian is also the chair of President Obama's Global Development Council and the former CEO of PIMCO, a global investment management firm headquartered in Newport Beach, California
