According to the Nation's Report Card - the National Assessment of Educational Progress exam - fourth and eighth graders are now doing worse in math than last year. It's the first time scores have gone down since the test was first administered in 1990.

Reading scores are not much better: flat for fourth graders and lower for eight graders.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with Carol Burris, executive director of the Network for Public Education Fund, about what these results mean.
