Germany's Volkswagen reached a $14.7 billion settlement Tuesday, over charges that it deliberately evaded pollution regulations on diesel cars sold in the U.S. The move triggered a slew of legal action from the Justice Department, 44 states, the Federal Trade Commission and many car owners.

Under the deal, which still requires the approval of a federal judge, about $10 billion will go to buy back cars and make other cash payments to the owners of 475,000 Volkswagen vehicles. Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with Jason Bellini of the Wall Street Journal.
