Former GOP candidate Ted Cruz today defended his decision not to endorse Republican nominee Donald Trump in a convention speech Wednesday night. Instead, he told the audience to “vote your conscience,” which drew boos.

Cruz told the Texas delegation this morning he would not support someone who attacked his father and his wife.

NPR’s Sarah McCammon joins Here & Now's Robin Young to talk about Cruz and the key event of the convention tonight: Donald Trump's official acceptance of the Republican nomination.
