Prime-time viewership of the Olympics on NBC is down 17 percent compared to the London Olympics in 2012. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, the audience of 18 to 49-year-olds is 25 percent less than it was during the London Games.

It’s the first Olympics ratings dip since 2000, and it indicates that live sports aren’t the big draw they used to be.

Here & Now’s Robin Young talks with Keri Geiger of Bloomberg News about what the ratings drop means.
