Critics of President-elect Donald Trump are questioning his selection of Dr. Ben Carson to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Trump criticized Carson during the presidential primary, and Carson himself voiced doubts about his own qualifications to lead a federal agency.

Critics are also pointing to Trump's string of tweets yesterday slamming China's trade policies, after Trump took a controversial call from Taiwan's president on Friday.

NPR's Ron Elving (@NPRrelving) joins Here & Now’s Robin Young to discuss the latest.

This segment aired on December 5, 2016.
