In Georgia, A Capital Punishment Contradiction

This week, Georgia executed its ninth inmate of 2016. Fifty-year old William Sallie was put to death by lethal injection after being convicted of killing his father-in-law in 1990.

Georgia has executed more people this year than any other state. But it's been more than two years since a Georgia jury handed down a death sentence. Sam Whitehead (@sclaudwhitehead) of Here & Now contributor Georgia Public Broadcasting took a look at why.
