Two conservative media outlets are distancing themselves from employees who peddled unsubstantiated conspiracy theories.

Fox News has pulled Judge Andrew Napolitano off the air after he claimed that a British intelligence agency helped former President Obama wiretap then-presidential candidate Donald Trump. Meanwhile the conservative website Independent Journal Review has retracted a story that suggested Obama's visit to Hawaii was connected to a ruling by a federal judge there that blocked Trump's revised travel ban. The publication has suspended the author of the story and two of his editors.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson talks about the controversies with NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik (@davidfolkenflik).

This segment aired on March 22, 2017.
