In One Los Angeles Retirement Community, Students Live Among The Residents

The number of Americans who are 65 and older is expected to more than double to 98 million by the year 2060. And right now, there are just 7,200 geriatricians in the country.

Here & Now's Robin Young talks with STAT reporter Megan Thielking (@meggophone) about one program that has students from the University of Southern California's School of Gerontology live at a retirement community in Hollywood. The program's founders hope to encourage more students to go into geriatrics.
