As Arizona is in the midst of another fire season, lessons are still being learned from the tragedy of the Yarnell Hill Fire of 2013, when 19 firefighters lost their lives.

New York Times reporter Fernanda Santos wrote about the fire in her 2016 book, "The Fire Line: The Story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots."

Here & Now's Peter O’Dowd revisits his conversation with Santos (@fernandaNYT) from last April.

This segment aired on July 4, 2017.
